Ohezuhyeandawa
Wyndott Indian word for "Something Great" This horse is made from Ohio Buckeye. The wood is very light in weight and very difficuly to work with. One of the reasons it is difficult to work with is that 99.9 % of Ohio Buckeye trees have no marketable lumber due to fungus and insect attacks. Most Ohio Buckeye trees have very short trunks and are hollow. I was able to get some trees that were immature but only 8 inches around to make this horse. You can see that even though they were immature they were already under a fungus attack. The blue and the brown are indicators. However, they do turn it from ordinary to extraordinary. Ohezuhyeandawa was completed in June of 2006 and resides in New Jersey |
