Yewaughste

This beauty is constructed of some the most varied Chinese Elm (Ulmaceae Ulmus parvifolia) wood available.  As you can see from the photo that even though there is no colored stain used that the zebra effect of the exposed grains on the legs is very dramatic.  This wood is fairly light with the horse and rocker weighing in at 68 pounds but is very strong and enduring.

For those who have asked me about the names of the horses, there is a simple answer.  I happen to live in an area in which was inhabited by the Wyandott Indians and in tribute to them I have used Wyandott words.  Ye,waugh, ste means good.
