OGHTSERAH
Oghtserah is the Wyandott Indian word for CLOUDS. This horse is constructed of Sugar Maple (Aceraceae Acer saccharum) If you look at the wood you can see vertical bright colorations and these are found in only the "hard " maples, either Black or Sugar. This wood is difficult to work with because it chips and is physically hard but because of it's unique bright colorations and it's variations in color within the wood it is worth putting the extra effort and money into. This piece and it's twin "Iruquas" are also rich in blue stain fungus. Oghtserah has black hair and dark brown eyes with his head tilted left.
Oghtserah was constructed in April, 2004 |
